Saleen “Racecraft” vehicle line debuts with 420S Mustang
The Mustang market seems to be headed back to the track. Recently, aftermarket giant Saleen sent a notice to dealers announcing their new ‘Racecraft’ branded vehicles. That’s right—the nameplate that was previously only associated with their successful line of components will now be associated with an entire line of vehicles.
“Today’s competitive marketplace has created unprecedented challenges,” the letter from Saleen said. “In listening to your Saleen dealer needs we are introducing a new brand of performance products, fully warranted at a more competitive price point.”
The first vehicle to run under the Racecraft nameplate will be the 420S Mustang, loaded with plenty of Saleen goodies, including a … [Read More]

Bold Moves: Ford hints that Boss V8 will not be included in 2010 Mustang
As soon as the folks at the blue oval announced the development of the 2008 Cobra Jet Mustang to evoke the racing passion of the 60s, enthusiasts certainly thought anything was possible for the coming years. But apparently, Ford is pumping the brakes on its plans to include the Boss Ford Mustang with coming production lines.
The news has made its way from PickupTrucks.com that the Boss V8 powerplant won’t be included in the 2010 F-150, the next-generation Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs, and most importantly, the 2010 Ford Mustang. It will, however, be included in the Super Duty F-Series trucks. That means the new Mustang will have to settle with a smaller displacement V8.
This is yet another “bold move” from the folks at Ford, as … [Read More]
Bold Moves: The Glass Roof Option for the 2009 Ford Mustang
For those who view next year’s Mustang as the last dying breath of this model, the 2009 Ford Mustang has plenty in store for enthusiasts. Sure, they’re only producing 45,000 of them, but next year’s model of America’s favorite pony car has one unique option for the Ford Mustang: a panoramic sunroof.
Ford has announced that it will include a glass roof option for the 2009 Ford Mustang. The option will only be available on the V6 Mustang and Mustang GT beginning this summer.
In recent polls and surveys, consumers have expressed their desire for more natural light in their cars as a result of… [Read More]
Stang Sweepstakes: Win a 2008 Mustang Shelby Terlingua V6
Carroll Shelby is a good man. For one, his Children’s Foundation provides financial aid to children who need organ and tissue transplants or who have acute cardiac disorders.
Secondly, he gives away a Mustang every year to raise money and promote the importance of organ and tissue donation for that foundation. Sweet!
The big carrot for this year’s raffle is a 2008 Mustang Shelby Terlingua V6. Aside from the supercharger churning out 375hp, the car has plenty going for it in the line of performance and aesthetic enhancements.
Styling begins with the deep draw hood and 20” anthracite “Razor” wheels. Throughout the vehicle, you’re sure to spot the infamous Terlingua hare showing its face. A partnership between Shelby and developers like Ford Racing made superior handling and braking improvements possible in the Terlingua V6.
Inclusion of the Shelby serial number means … [Read More]

Bold Moves: Ford to release race-ready 2008 Cobra Jet Mustang
Ford has never had any trouble building its legacy and evoking the nostalgic whims of Mustang enthusiasts. And their latest move has racing fans on their feet.
The classic 1968 Cobra Jet Mustang left a lasting legacy—one that the folks at the blue oval feel the S197’s chassis can carry on forty years later as a “true A Stock competitor.” Ford has announced it is developing a factory-built NHRA-legal race car this summer—the 2008 Cobra Jet Mustang.
Full disclosure is yet to come from Dearborn, but the company has leaked a few exciting tidbits regarding the project they’re calling the FR00CJ… [Read More]
