Bold Moves: Ford releases detailed hi-res photos of the 2010 Mustang

The official unveiling of the new steed doesn’t take place until November at the LA Auto Show, but in the past week, enthusiasts have had their palettes dampened nearly every day with spy photos of the 2010 Mustang.

First, there were the up-close-and-personal yet still camouflaged parade photos. Then came the obscure yet revealing shot of the un-camoflauged redesigned rear. On that same day, more photos were taken of what appeared to be the 2010 GT500 Mustang taking an uninhibited joy ride around Dearborn. The vehicle must have been en route to its photo shoot, because KGP released some detailed photos shortly thereafter.

Well, Ford… [Read More]

Brian Saltis’ 2006 Ford Mustang – “Black Betty”

Brian Saltis became immersed in his passion in his friend’s driveway after he had just received his driver’s license. His friend’s mother had a beautiful fastback, but between the two of them, only Brian could drive.

“I think we wore the tires off of that thing in a few nights,” says Saltis. “It was a lot of fun.”

Suddenly, 25 years passed, and his commitment to raising a family yielded many purchases of pickup trucks and family cars. But then came the release of the S197 platform.

“I was really impressed… [Read More]

2010 Ford Mustang rear caught in the wild

The bad news? This is not a new paint option for the 2010 Ford Mustang. The good news? We can pick out quite a few details from the un-camouflaged bum of this steed.

Oh, and thanks in advance to V8limited over at TheMustangSource.com for snapping this camera phone shot—we, however, do not condone reckless driving practices. But this is great.

Firstly, you’ll do well to notice the wider, redesigned taillights which had pretty much already been confirmed through the camo. The new curves were already apparent. But here they are in full view.

Fender light! Check out the fender light, folks—it’s brilliant.

A lot has been done on the rear—a larger faux gas cap with more stylish curves, a lipless, completely smooth trunk, and a spoiler that may have undergone a complete redesign although we’re spotting a few cues from the GT500.

Check out the bumper. You’ll see a leaner strip beneath the faux cap and a slight slope. Further down, you’ll notice a black plastic… [Read More]

Galpin Auto Sports to build “Project B” concept Mustang, unveil at SEMA 2008

The past several years of speculation by automotive reporters and bloggers have resulted in some outrageous headlines regarding the direction the Ford Mustang is taking during this pivotal period in the brand’s history. It has come to the point where one isn’t sure what to expect when visiting their favorite Mustang enthusiast site every morning.

Please, don’t be shocked by the photo below. It’s just a concept.

The “Project B” is a work in progress that Galpin Auto Sports plans to debut at SEMA this November. Surprisingly enough, the controversial design draws its roots from the current S197 Mustang platform, but by taking several dramatic twists from the original, it quickly becomes hardly recognizable as a Ford Mustang spinoff.

Take the 5.0-stroked twin-supercharged V8 beneath the hood that delivers massive power output. Add to that the wheel assortment – 24 inches in the rear and 22 inches in front – and some stellar 16-inch Wilwood brakes.
Rumor has it that the folks at Galpin have also snuck Ford’s second gen SYNC system into the concept as well.

Spy Shots: More photos of the 2010 Ford Mustang

Designed to promote and excite enthusiasts about the launch of Ford’s next Mustang, the2010mustang.com recently brought its title subject along during a parade somewhere in small town America. Of course, the ploy was designed to motivate at least one amateur photographer to snap some more “spy photos.” (Can we even call them that anymore?)

Thankfully, the photos happened to be hi-res and daringly close to the unreleased pony car. These are some of the most intimate shots we’ve seen. It seems these “spy” photographers are getting better and better every day…

The hype surrounding the 2010 model is largely due to the redesign of the body- the first major alteration to the S197’s body since its release in 2004.

This isn’t the first sighting of the camouflaged Mustang and we’re sure it won’t be the last. The official unveiling of the 2010 Mustang will take place at the famous LA Auto Show later this year.

Anyhow, click on the thumbnails below to check out the hi-res spy shots of the 2010 Ford Mustang.

Also, be sure to head to our forums to drool over … [Read More]
